Our vision and development roadmap
Where We Are Today
Agora has shipped nine versioned milestones (v1.0 through v9.0) between March 1 and March 22, 2026. The platform now comprises 48 NestJS backend modules, 22 extracted core packages, and 6 custom circom circuits, with private settlement on the Canton Network through Agora's own live mainnet validator and a DAML attribution ledger.
v9.0 delivered Agora's Canton Network settlement: a live mainnet validator, a DAML attribution ledger for token operations and vote receipts, Canton Coin settlement for poll-activation fees and rewards, and a shielded fee pool that hides amounts. The broader token economy — dynamic reward scaling, staking, and governance — remains in design and is not yet deployed.
The roadmap below reflects live production state. Completed phases have shipped and are running. In-progress work refers to v9.1 (poll duration, vote limit, shielded fees). Planned phases cover Q2–Q4 2026, culminating in progressive decentralization and a global scale rollout.

v6.0 – v8.0: Ecosystem Extraction — Packages, Shared Schemas, Auth
- •Turborepo monorepo with 22 extracted core packages (@agora/*)
- •Shared schema layer: auth, posts, polls, votes, messages, communities, wallet
- •@agora/auth extraction: JWT, SIWE, OAuth, password, RBAC guards
- •@agora/zk-engine, @agora/anon-credential, @agora/anon-receipt extracted
- •Ecosystem v2 branch, backend DI wiring hardened
v9.0: Canton Network Settlement — Validator, DAML Ledger, Shielded Fees

- •Shielded fee pool (Poseidon2 commitments + Merkle proofs) hides settlement amounts
- •Vote receipts (BatchAnchored / VoteRecorded) and poll-created events on the DAML ledger
- •Wallet balance migrated from double precision to decimal(38,18)
v9.1 — Active: Poll Duration System, Vote Limit System, Shielded Fees
- •Fixed poll duration tiers (1-week / 2-week / 1-month) with admin-configurable fees
- •Dynamic per-community vote caps based on engagement
- •shielded_fee.circom — privacy-preserving fee proofs
- •RLN circuit hardening; Math.random() replaced with crypto.randomInt() across ZK paths
- •Canton settlement monitoring, alerting, and Prometheus dashboards

Long-Term Vision
Anonymous Social Standard
Become the default infrastructure for privacy-preserving voting, community discourse, and reputation across DAOs, enterprises, academia, and civil society.
Developer Ecosystem
22 core @agora/* packages, a public SDK, and a partner API gateway — so any team can add anonymous voting, RLN-protected chat, or UniRep reputation to their product in hours.
Progressive Decentralization
Hand off platform parameters — reward rates, settlement allocation, upgrades — to the community through a planned governance process.
Next-Generation ZK Primitives
Quadratic voting, liquid democracy, and conviction voting — all backed by the next generation of Semaphore, RLN, and UniRep circuits.
