Example:

Members post experiences, upvote each other, and build pseudonymous reputation — without revealing real identities to each other or to the public. Spammers are automatically rate-limited by RLN. In the shipped v1 an RLN-gated post is still attributable by the operator; the threat model says where that line falls.
Whistleblower Platforms

Example:
An NGO running an anonymous reporting channel for workplace misconduct. A report is unlinkable to its author by colleagues and by other members; two limits a source must know first are that the operator holds the row mapping an account to its commitment, and that the anonymous endpoint refuses identity headers but still sees the connection it arrives on. Reports are deliberately not written to the Canton ledger, so there is no ledger record of a report to point at. Filing is free, and floods are held down by a cap on how many credentials one principal is issued per epoch and by one nullifier per reported target.

Example:
An investigative outlet runs an anonymous community for readers to discuss sensitive political stories. Community reputation lets trusted members surface tips. What the cryptography buys is unlinkability to other readers and to anyone reading the ledger; the operator boundary and the source IP are set out in the threat model, and a newsroom should read it before promising a source more than that.

Example:
A 5,000-employee company surveys on hybrid work policy. The demographic breakdowns are held to the k ≥ 25 floor: a cohort smaller than that is generalised or nulled at write time rather than published, and the community health dashboard rounds its member counts to the same floor. The scenario is an illustration — Agora has run no survey at that scale, so it publishes no response-rate figure of its own.

A response is unlinkable to its author by other donors and by anyone reading the ledger, though not by the operator; the batch of responses is committed to the Canton ledger as a Merkle root that only the charity's own ledger party and Agora's validator can see.

Employee Union Elections
Challenge:
Agora enables remote, anonymous voting with Canton ledger verification. Results are anchored to a tamper-evident record the organisation running the vote can check, while ballots stay unlinkable to other voters and to the public. Where a member may be leaned on, the organiser can also open the poll under a last-vote-counts rule — chosen at creation, offered on sealed polls only, and fixed for the life of the poll: a member who was pressured can quietly cast again before close, the platform's reply to that ballot is identical in shape and status to its reply to a first one, and no public or organiser surface and no result artefact reports that a revote happened. That deters pressure rather than defeating it — a coercer who watches the voter, or holds the recovery phrase, until the poll closes still wins, and so does forced abstention.

Universal Applicability
Works for organizations of any size, in either mode: a large group can run a poll anonymously, and a small team runs the same poll as a named one, which works from the first user. Anonymous mode has a floor — a community below the threshold cannot take an anonymous poll live, and a poll that never fills is closed as unfilled rather than opened with an anonymity set of one.
